The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of ASKAMAYA Hotel & Suites and Just Ask Club, Dr. Ulom Michael who is also known as Michael ASKAMAYA has addressed the perception of people about hospitality and nightlife business in Nigeria.

He made this address in a recent interview, where he stated that the hospitality and nightlife business is a serious business. According to him, “there are so many hotels and clubhouses all over the nation, competing for relevance and dominance, this is to tell you that our business is serious”.

The Lagos-born businessman who hails from Imo state said; “I find it amusing when people trivialize this industry. We contribute a lot to the economy, and we also complement the activities of other industries through our services”.

He explained further that the hospitality and nightlife industry specifically contribute to the entertainment industry, “they use our locations to shoot video and our DJs play their songs.

Although he acknowledged that the industry is highly competitive, he stated that the ASKAMAYA Hotel & Suites and Just Ask Club are in a class of their own.

“I know how competitive this industry is, but I am not concerned because my hotel ASKAMAYA Hotel & Suites and Just Ask Club are unique, we easily stand out from the multitude and that has earned us a large base of loyal customers” he explained.

He further disclosed how lucrative the industry is by mentioning that he left his discipline to invest in the industry. “For instance, I hold a B.Sc. In Biology from the prestigious University of Lagos (UNIL AG) but I have chosen to invest my resources in the hospitality and nightlife industry because I know it is profitable, especially when your service is unmatchable like us” he added.

Michael ASKAMAYA officially launched Just Ask Club on the 11th of February 2022, and it had in attendance high-profile individuals including E-money, Jowizaza, Onyeze, and Ned Okonkwo with musical performances from DJ Neptune, Teni, K-Cee, Wande Coal, and Olamide, Baddo.

“The architecture of Just Ask is one of its kind in this country, no clubhouse has the internal capacity to contain as many people as we can. We have built a masterclass and this is obvious with the luxurious ambience of our club,” he said.
