Sophia Momodu publicly apologize, over Davido’s birthday post

Sophia Momodu, Davido first baby mama and mother to Imade has tendered a public apology to Nigerians over her birthday post to David Adeleke, which many tagged ‘insensitive’.

Wakadaily reports that, Davido turned 30 on Monday, November 21, 2022 fans, and well wishers took to social media to celebrate and prayed for him, despite his break from social media, following his sons death.

Sophia Momodu, shared a family photo of the singer with his other two kids, including late Ifeanyi Adeleke, via her daughter’s Instagram account.

Davido fans were furious at Sophia for posting a photo of late Ifeanyi on Davido’s birthday, and they also blasted her for not mourning Ifeanyi publicly after his death.

Reacting to the backlash, the mother of one has now released a statement via Imade’s Instagram page, to apologize for her action.

She wrote, ” I realize that the earlier post may come across as insensitive and I sincerely apologize as that was not the intention.

Imade deeply loves her father and all her siblings, and as a mother, I’m doing my best to guide her through the difficult emotion of grief from the loss of her brother whilst trying to celebrate her father’s birthday.

I ask for your consideration and hope that you all can be understanding during these times. Thank you,” she said.
