The presidential flagbearer of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi has urged Nigerians to reject moneybag politicians’ in the forthcoming general elections.
The former governor of Anambra State, stated this during a campaign in Ekiti State on Thursday, “Moneybags have played a lot of roles but they brought us to poverty,” Obi said.
Labour Party presidential candidate spoke during an interview with Channels Television, when asked to respond to statement by legal luminary, Afe Babalola who earlier said the highest spender and not the best among the candidates will win the presidential election.
Peter Obi said it is time Nigerians rejected moneybags to elect quality leaders who will bring about the desired change in the country.
He said, “It is time to reject them (moneybags). I am pleading for Nigerians to reject them because they cannot continue. If they continue, we are going to be impoverished.”
Obi earlier posted a video on his Twitter page, where he appealed to his supporters to go get their Permanent Voter Cards, to enable them elect the right leader.
He wrote, “Get your PVC and become part of this great liberation! -PO.”
