    She rose to fame after playing her role as Adanna on the soap opera, Tinsel.

    She got more exposure for her role in “Rattlesnake: The Ahanna story”. She is the founder of the JoyfulJoy foundation, creating awareness for the fight against malaria.

    Early Life & Education


    Osas Ighodaro was born Osariemen Martha Elizabeth Ighodaro on October 26, 1990, in Bronx, New York, United States to Nigerian parents from Edo State.

    She is an indigene of Edo State, South-South Nigeria, She grew up in the United States and has an older sister who died of malaria.

    Her mother Patricia Imuetinyan Ighodaro also passed away in November 2020. Her father Mr. Ighodaro is a middle-class Edo man who resided with his family in the United States.

    Osas do give credit to her parents, most especially her father’s impact on her rise to fame in the entertainment industry.

    She attended Pennsylvania State University where she obtained her first degree in broadcasting journalism with dual minors in entrepreneurship and theater.

    She obtained her master’s degree in fine arts from the Actors Studio Drama School at Pace University.

    Career


    Osas began her career as a model when she won Miss Black USA in 2010. She moved to Nigeria in 2012 and got numerous acting roles.

    She became known for her role as Adanna in the soap opera, Tinsel. She joined MTV Shuga for series four in October 2019.

    She has starred in movies such as Cadillac Records, Jewslim, The Tested, Computer Love, Gbomo Gbomo Express, The Department, Put a Ring on It, Merry Men: The Real Yoruba Demons, Double Strings, Namaste Wahala, Single Not Searching, The Ghost and the Tout Too, and so on.

    She has also been featured on television shows such as Conviction, Law & Order, Meets the Browns, Parallels, The Smart Money Woman, King of Boys: The Return of the King, and so on.

    She hosted the Maltina Dance All Reality show and co-hosted the 2014 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards

    She is the founder of the Joyful Joy foundation, which is meant for raising funds and creating awareness for the fight against malaria.
