    Paris Whitney Hilton was born in New York City on February 17, 1981, to businessman Richard Hilton and socialite and former child actress Kathy Hilton.

    She is the oldest of four children, with one sister, Nicky Hilton Rothschild (born 1983), and two brothers, Barron Hilton II (born 1989) and Conrad Hughes Hilton (born 1993). (born 1994).

    Paris Hilton‘s breakthrough came in 2003 when she co-starred in the Fox reality series The Simple Life with her childhood friend and socialite Nicole Richie, in which they lived for a month with a family in the rural village of Altus, Arkansas.

    The show debuted on December 2, 2003, shortly after the release of Paris Hilton‘s sex tape, and it was a rating triumph. Its first episode drew 13 million viewers, boosting Fox’s adult 18-49 rating by 79%. The high viewership was attributed to Paris Hilton‘s exposure to the homemade tape, while she became known for her onscreen dumb blonde persona.

    By 2004, Paris Hilton had appeared in several supporting and guest-starring roles in films and scripted television series like Raising Helen. Demand for her first fragrance surged by December 2004.

    Paris Hilton hosted NBC’s Saturday Night Live in February 2005, with Keane as the musical guest, and the slasher picture House of Wax—her first major cinematic role—was released in theaters in May, to criticism.

    Her performance garnered a Teen Choice Award for Best Scream, a Razzie Award for Worst Supporting Actress in 2005, and a nomination for Best Frightened Performance at the 2006 MTV Movie Awards. House of Wax earned more than $70 million globally.

    Carl’s Jr. ran a television commercial promoting its Spicy Burger product in May 2005, featuring Paris Hilton in a provocative swimsuit soaping up a Bentley automobile and crawling all over it before taking a huge bite out of her burger and saying, “That’s hot.”

    By the fall of 2005, Paris Hilton had released her second book, titled Your Heiress Diary: Confess It All to Me, and a new fragrance called Just Me.
