American business mogul and philanthropist, Bill Gates says his daughter, Phoebe was excited he would see Nigerian singer’s, Burna Boy and Rema when he visit Nigeria.
Bill Gates who is currently in Nigeria, disclosed this on Wednesday while delivering his opening address at an event in Lagos State.
The business mogul and Nigerian billionaire, Aliko Dangote visited President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Monday.
The Co-founder of Microsoft visitation was part of the Gates Foundation’s commitment to working closely with communities and leaders to support innovation.
The philanthropist said his 20-year-old daughter was excited of his visit to Nigeria, because he will meet Afrobeat starts.
Bill Gates said: “When my daughter Phoebe heard I was coming to Nigeria, she said, “You’re lucky because you get to see Burna Boy and Rema, so I had to look them up…because I’m so ‘hip’. But I remember the last time I was here, I got to see Davido & Wizkid perform.
“Of course, being here in Nigeria, I can’t help but mention the amazing creativity that goes on here.
“Afrobeats from Nigeria are popular everywhere. When my daughter Phoebe heard I was coming to Nigeria, she said, ‘You’re lucky to go see Burna Boy and Rema.”
He added that the last time he visited Nigeria, he watched Wizkid and Davido performed and it was amazing.
“But I also remember, the last time I was here, I did get to see Davido and Wizkid perform and I was quite impressed with that. So, my kids think I’ve come to a very hip place,” he added.
