The entertainment industry has been thrown into mourning following the death of veteran actress Cynthia Okereke, who passed away at the age of 63.

Wakadaily reports that Cynthia Okereke alongside actor, Clemson Cornell, aka Agbogidi, were reported missing on 28 July 2022 after their family members confirmed they didn’t return home from a film location at Ozalla Town, Enugu State.

The abductors contacted their families, demanding $100,000 as ransom.

Okereke who spoke after her released in a short video clip revealed that her BP was high after check up, but thanked her fans for their prayers.  “They thought I was going away, but I am not. For a good one week, I was there without water or food. But today, I say God to you be all the glory forever and ever,” she added.

Announceing the shocking news today, her colleague in the entertainment industry, Joseph Okechukwu said he was about to pay for Cynthia Okereke’s flight ticket to come to America but sadly, she died on Tuesday night.

“REST IN PEACE, Nwanyi oma. I’m shattered beyond words. The fact that I was about to pay for your flight ticket to come finish what we started only to here you went to be with Lord just last night is one of the toughest things I’ve ever had to deal with in recent times. I pray I’m able to recover from this shock. Life is really just a mist. One minute you have it, the next you don’t.

For the more than 20 years that I’ve known you, you’ve been such an amazing, decent and lovely soul to be around. I never imagined you’d exit so unceremoniously. Words fail me. Sleep on, Cynthia. May your gentle soul rest on till we meet again in glory,” the filmmaker wrote.
