Tinubu to Nigerian youths: Be patient I understand your pain

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has urged Nigerian youths to be patient with the hardship caused by the economic reforms of his administration.

The president spoke on Thursday in a meeting with the All Progressives Congress National Youth Leaders from the 36 States and Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

He assured that the hardships the country is currently facing would eventually vanish and give way to a more equitable, prosperous and inclusive economy.

He said: “I make my pledge to the country that no decision will be difficult for this administration to take for the prosperity and unity of this country. Economic reforms could be slow. Be patient a little more.

“I can assure you that I understand the pains you are going through. It’s not easy to get out the monster of over forty years called fuel subsidy.’’

Since he announced the removal of fuel subsidy during his inauguration on May 29, the price of fuel have triple in Nigeria, which has so far raised concerns across the country.

With the product selling for as high as N700 per litre in some parts of the country, the high cost of fuel triggered a hike in foodstuff, transportation and many more across the country.
