Afrobeats singer, Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy has explained the inspiration behind his forthcoming album, ‘I Told Them’.

The Grammy award-winning artiste went down memory lane on his Twitter page and discovered that he had previously tweeted about all he is achieving now, hence, he decided to name his seventh studio album, ‘I Told Them’.

The self-acclaimed African Gaint revealed this in a recent interview with American media outlet, Complex.

Burna Boy said: “Them’ in my album title, is anyone that ever didn’t believe [in me] at any point in time.

“The way the name of this album came up is because one random day, I just went on my Twitter [page], and I started scrolling down to my old tweets. I wanted to see what the first tweet I ever tweeted was, for some strange reason.

“And then it just sent me down this rabbit hole, where I’m just looking at everything I ever said. I’m like, wow! It’s crazy. I really did say all these sh*ts that is happening now. And that kind of made me to name my album, ‘I Told Them”.

Burna also expressed his pride in being able to provide fro his family. Reflecting on his forthcoming album, he said he always knew he would buy a house for his mother.

His words, “It’s great man, it’s a blessing. It’s nothing short of a blessing. I always told my mum while growing up as a kid that I would buy her a house and a car someday. Another ‘I Told Them’ moment.”

He stated that his mother has not yet chosen a house she wants to live in, because she is very busy on tour and likes the job more than he do.

The ‘Last Last’ crooner’s seventh studio album is expected to be released on Friday, August 25, 2023.

Burna Boy, also laughed at reports that his net worth is estimated at $22 million.

The American media outlet had asked about his worth, stating that a quick Google search places it at $22 million. Upon hearing the estimated figure, he laughed heartily for a minute before saying that he did not want to talk about it.
