Comrade Halliru Ibrahim, the president of Zamfara State Students Association of the Federal University Gusau (ZAMSSA), has bemoaned that over 2,565 Students dropped out of school due to the university’s increased in school fees.
The union leader revealed this while fielding questions from journalists at the Federal University Gusau, the state capital on Thursday.
Ibrahim called on Governor Dauda Lawal and other stakeholders to make the appropriate measures to assist the state indigene students pay their school fees.
“He stated that most students were about to drop their education from different faculties because they could not afford to pay exorbitant school fees.
Halliru Ibrahim further stressed that the removal of fuel subsidy by president Bola Tinubu plays an important role in nipping students from institutions, especially at the Federal University Gusau.
He, however, called on the students to get a part time jobs or learn hand work, mechanic, and furniture work, that will support their education.”
