    Nigeria’s first chartered accountant, Akintola Williams dies at 104

    Pa Williams passed away in his sleep at a ripe age of 104 years in the wee hours of Monday, September 11, 2023 in his Lagos house.

    The accounting icon celebrated his 104th birthday on August 9, 2023.

    Pa Akintola Williams was a brother of a prominent Nigerian lawyer, who was the first Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) in the 1950s, late Chief Frederick Rotimi Alade Williams.

    The renowned accountant studied accounting at the University of London and qualified as a chartered accountant in 1947.
