Auto Crash: Medical Doctor, 5 Others Die in Ogun

Auto crash on Saturday afternoon, a medical doctor identified as Joko Oriyomi Shedrack alongside five others were confirmed dead along Abeokuta-Sagamu expressway in Ogun State.

According to reports, the four others includes three female and one male, the fatal accident occurred at the U-turn axis of Day Waterman College, inbound Abeokuta in Obafemi Owode Local Government Area in Ogun around 4 pm.

Involved in the accident was, a yellow Howo truck marked T-14214LA, suspected to belong to a construction company and a sliver Mazda bus with the registration  number KRD 975 HJ. The Mazda bus which was on speed ran under the truck that was making a deviation at the U-turn thereby resulting to the fatal crash.

The incident was confirmedOgun Auto Crash by the public Relations Officer (PRO), owned Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency Babatunde Akinbiyi, said “the medical doctor was identified by the sympathisers around the scene of the accident, who confirmed that he just completed his course and freshly graduated from a medical school.

Akinbiyi explained that the truck driver “drove dangerously and recklessly” as he failed at observing due process of driving on the expressway by according right of way to the traffic coming from Abeokuta, while making a deviation.

“Unfortunately, the driver of the Howo truck who caused the crash ran away. However, the accident vehicles have been deposited at the Obafemi Owode Divisional Police Station,” he said.
