Early Life & Education
Bobby Lee was born on September 17, 1971, in San Diego, California, United States to parents Jeanie Lee and Rober E. Lee. He was raised alongside his younger brother, Steve Lee in Poway, California.
His parents owned clothing stores in Escondido and Encinitas, California.
He went to Painted Hall Elementary School, Twin Peaks Middle School, and Poway High School.
He left his parents home at the age of 18, where he began to work in restaurants and coffee shops at the same time, he went to Palomar College, although he dropped out of the college.
Career
Bobby Lee maintained different sources of income at cafes and eateries prior to seeking a career in comedy.
In 1994, the cafe where he was working unexpectedly closed. After a couple of long periods of maintaining odd sources of income at the club, he chose to attempt stand-up during one of their novice nights. Within a time of doing customary comedy sets, he got offers to open for both Pauly Shore and Carlos Mencia.
He proceeded to work routinely at The Comedy Store in Los Angeles, a parody club claimed by Pauly Shore’s mom Mitzi.
Lee has said that his folks had trusted he would forge ahead with the privately-owned company and were not exactly strong of his comedic interests at first.
Bobby started co-facilitating the Bad Friends digital broadcast with Andrew Santino, in 2020.
In 2001, Lee became part of the cast of MADtv 2001 which set him apart as the show’s first and only Asian cast member.
He hosted the podcast Tigerbelly alongside his girlfriend, Khalyla Kuhn in 2015 and has shown up as a recurring character Jin Jeong in the new Magnum P.I. television series from 2018.
