CBN unfreeze accounts of Nairabet, AbokiFX, Bamboo, 437 others

A post-no-debit restriction imposed on the bank accounts of 440 people and businesses has been lifted by the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN.

A post-no-debit means all debit transactions, including automated teller machines (ATMs) and cheques, on an account have been blocked. However, the account can receive inflows.

In a statement signed by its Director of Banking Supervision, A.M. Barau on Tuesday, instructed all banks to notify the concerned customers of the development.

The accounts on the list include: Rise Vest Technologies Limited, Bamboo Systems Technology Limited, abokiFX Limited, Nairabet International, Chaka Technologies Limited, CTL/Business Expenses, and Trove Technologies Limited.

The circular read, “You are hereby directed to vacate the Post-No-Debit restriction placed on the accounts of the under-listed bank customers at our instance.

“You are also required to inform the concerned customers of the vacation accordingly.”

Recall that in 2021, CBN instructed banks to freeze the accounts of 18 companies, ranging from bureaux de change, construction firms, investment companies, laundering services, and property companies.
