The family of Gufaru Yusuf has been thrown into mourning following the death of the 22-year-old who was shoot by the operatives of the NDLEA and one Emmanuel Olomowewe in the Idioro area of Mushin, Lagos State.
Wakadaily reports that the NDLEA agents stormed the neighborhood around 10pm on Wednesday to raid a drug den, as they attempted to accomplish their goal, they started shooting sporadically.
In the process their bullets hit Yusuf’s head and Emmanuel’s chest, which they died on the spot.
Speaking with the Punch on Friday, Yusuf’s elder sister, Muhibah, said the deceased was on his way to buy food when a stray bullet from NDLEA agents killed him.
Yusuf’s sister said: “My brother usually assists my father at his workplace in Lagos. But yesterday (Wednesday), he did not go to work. From what I was told, he was on his way to buy food around 9.40pm when we got the information that he got hit by a bullet fired by the NDLEA operatives. We want justice.”
Yusuf’s tearful mother betrayed emotion during a conversation said: “I cannot say anything; let me give it (the phone) to another person that will talk to you.”
