Seun Kuti, an Afrobeat artist, recently disclosed that his father, Fela Anikulapo Kuti, who is considered the originator of Afrobeats, had more than 100 mistresses.

Kuti revealed on the most recent episode of the ‘Bahd & Boujee’ Podcast, hosted by reality star Tolanibaj and actress Moet Abebe, that while people were aware of Fela’s 27 wives, they were unaware of his more than 100 concubines residing in his house.

“People only know of Fela’s 27 wives, they don’t know of his over 100 girlfriends that lived with us in the house,” he said.

Remember that Seun Kuti recently disclosed that his deceased father, Fela, got married to 27 women simultaneously in order to protect their reputation and self-respect, as the media had already labeled his female dancers and band members who lived with him as “prostitutes”.

In 1978, Fela took a bold step by marrying 27 women on the same day, which was considered a highly audacious act.
