Garang Mawien Kuol was born on September 15, 2004, in Egypt to Sudanese parents, Mawien Kuol (father), and Antonita Kuol (mother).
He was raised alongside his four siblings. He has three younger brothers and an older brother.
He is the younger brother of Alou Kuol is also a professional footballer.
Career
Garang Kuol began his football career at the youth level with Central Coast Mariners. He made his debut for the senior team in a 6-0 victory over APIA Leichhardt in the 2021 FFA Cup where he came on as a substitute on December 21, 2021.
He also scored on his debut seven minutes after coming on. He made his A-League men’s debut and also scored in a 5-0 win against Wellington Phoenix on April 2022. He signed his first professional contract, a two-year deal with the Mariners in June 2022.
According to reports, he is set to join the English club Newcastle United in January 2023.
Kuol represented Australia at the under-20 level and was called up to the senior team in a friendly match against New Zealand.
