Man killed 12-yr-old brother while testing ‘bulletproof’ charm in Kwara

A 12-year-old boy identified as Yusuf Abubakar, has repeatedly been shot dead by his brother Abubakar Abubaka, while testing the efficacy of a newly prepared charm against gun shots in Dutse Gogo town near Kaiama, headquarters of Kaiama local government of Kwara State.

Wakadaily gathered that the incident occurred on Sunday 2nd October when the son of a hunter was happy to test his newly prepared charm and decided to try it on the younger brother, unfortunately, the charm failed and the 12-year-old Yusuf fell and died instantly

On realising that the charm had failed Abubakar escaped and ran into the bush, he’s yet to be seen at the time of this report.

Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer in Kwara Command, SP Ajayi Okasanmi, said that the Police have commenced an investigation and have set a manhunt for the elder brother who shot the gun.

“Investigation into the matter has commenced as directed by the Commissioner of Police Kwara State, CP Paul Odama.

The Commissioner also advised parents and guardians to monitor the activities of their children and avoid doing certain unsavoury activities while their children and wards watch, to prevent incidents of this nature.”
