Osayi-Samuel Nigerian footballer, defends teammates against pitch invaders

Bright Osayi- Samuel, Nigerian footballer, who plays for Turkish club, Fenerbahce, was spotted hitting a violent pitch invader to the ground during a chaotic pitch brawl on Sunday.

Tension increased at the end of Fenerbahce’s 3-2 win over Trabzonspor in the Turkish Super League.

Fred, former Manchester United player, obtained two goals in the first half, while Fenerbache secured the win with  late 87th- minute goal from Michy Batshuayi.

Fenerbahce players gathered in the middle of the pitch to celebrate their victory and suddenly, a single Trabzonspor fan came out on the pitch to ridicule them.

The individual who was wearing a mask was quickly apprehended by the security team.

As the situation spread out, a growing number of Trabzonspor supporters managed to bypass the security staff, causing difficulties in maintaining control.

The 26-year old winger, was captured in the midst of the commotion.

A viral video making round on social media captured the Nigerian defender chasing a fan and giving him a punch on his face, causing the masked supporter to fall to the ground.

Osayi-Samuel,  in another video clip, was seen celebrating when he suddenly noticed a pitch invader.

In the same video, he confronted the invader defending himself against a punch and retaliating with one of his own, as a security guard quickly restrained the impulsive fan.

Osayi-Samuel, During the incident had to be held back by his teammates and security as the situation became more enormous.

As claimed by the report from Mirror UK, the atmosphere became heated as some home supporters stated t throwing objects onto the pitch, aiming at players, coaches, and referees.

Members of Fenerbahce’s team and staff hurriedly made their way to the tunnel for safety.

Following his early career at the Blackpool, Osayi-Samuel has made the move to Fenerbahce from QPR in 2021.

However, he has also made 126 appearances for the Turkish team.
