Temilade Openiyi (born June 11, 1995) famously known as Tems is a Nigerian leading female artiste that sits at the intersection of Afrobeats, R&B, and Alté genres of music.
Tems rose to fame in the industry after the release of her debut single, Mr. Rebel, whose production was handled by herself.

Tems was born on the 11th Of June 1995 in the city of Lagos, Nigeria into the Yoruba family of Mr. and Mrs. Openiyi. Her father is British-Nigerian, and from whom she earns her British citizenship. While her mother is a Nigerian who hails from the South West region. She is the second child of the family and has an older brother.
Tems had a brief stint in an elementary school in the UK. On moving back to Nigeria, she attended an expensive primary school for her elementary education.
