Nigerian actor and good friend of Junior Pope, Nosa Rex, better known as Baba Rex, is commemorating his late colleague on what would have been his first birthday after his passing.

On his Instagram page, Nosa Rex posted a picture of the deceased and expressed how they would have been celebrating together today if he had been laid to rest. Nevertheless, he sends his birthday wishes to his late friend.

“Normally we suppose dey celebrate you today. Baba since you never rest, Happy birthday”.

Rita Edochie, who is also commemorating his birthday after his death, wrote a long message to him expressing her sadness that she can no longer celebrate his birthday in person.

She stated that her heart is broken once again and she is struggling to accept that he is gone.

She asked him some questions, but found comfort in the belief that he is watching over them.

The news of the actor’s death, which occurred three weeks ago, after drowning in the Anam River while returning from a movie shoot, is no longer a surprise. Alongside five others, the beloved actor lost his life in the boat accident.

Last week, the family of the deceased actor announced his funeral arrangements. He will be laid to rest on May 17th, 2024, in his hometown in Enugu state.

Many observant fans noticed that the word ‘husband’ was missing from the obituary poster, causing speculation as the actor was married to Jennifer Awele and they have three sons.

The family clarified that they did not authorize the burial poster and later corrected it to include his wife.

His death has deeply saddened his colleagues, who have been expressing their grief on social media.

Destiny Etiko expressed her regret for not being able to spend more time with him and made a promise to him.

Nigerian billionaire businessman, E-Money, pledged to take care of the late actor’s children, recalling the actor’s last words on the boat.

Regina Daniels shared a compilation of videos of the actor, stating that he left behind a world filled with love and support for his loved ones.

Veteran actress, Rita Edochie, decided not to celebrate her birthday this year and dedicated it to the memory of Junior Pope. She stated how the late actor never missed her birthdays.

Alex Ekubo wrote a sincere message expressing his shock and sadness over the boat accident, saying that it was particularly difficult for him as it happened on the same day as Junior Pope’s death, which also happened to be his birthday.
