Demola Odulaja, the estranged husband of Lagos socialite, Farida Sobowale who was rescued from jumping into the lagoon due to his betrayal, has explained why he dumped her.
The businessman was dragged for parting aways with Farida for his alluring side chick barley two months after their elaborate wedding.
WAKADAILY reported that the Chief Executive Officer of House of Phreedah Body Care, Farida Abdulkabir popularly known as Farida Sobowale, attempted suicide by trying to jump off the lagoon on the Third Mainland Bridge but was accosted and prevented by good samaritans.
Farida said she could not endure the fallout of her crashed marriage and this prompted her decision to end her life on Thursday night August 17, 2023.
Recall that the socialite had a very lavish wedding two months ago, the talk-of-town wedding ceremony was estimated to have cost over N100m and this was all taken care of by her.
However, Odulaja in an interview with a Yoruba social commentator, ArewaTopeFamous, on Tuesday via Instagram Live shared his own side of the story.
He claimed he ended his marriage with his spouse owing to her unrestrained and promiscuous way of living, seamlessly moving from one man to another.
Odulaja said his association with Sobowale extended over a substantial span of 20 years but had become unstable owing to her “unrestrained and promiscuous way of living.”
He further made a shocking revelation that if he were to list 20 of his friends, he firmly believes that Farida had been romantically involved with 18 of them, all while being married to him.
His words: “I am extremely wealthy. I live in a 22-bedroom mansion in Gbagada.
“I am not a gigolo. I come from a wealthy home and have been flying first class long before now, people know me well in London.
“When I got back to Nigeria from London in 2009, Farida met me in Lagos in 2010. That same year, I took her to China to start an importation business which of course yielded results and was the beginning of her travelling.”
He also maintained that he had been having affairs with Sobowale even when she was married to her ex-husband, Tunde Sobowale, whom she bore her three children.
