Pastor David Ibiyeomie, the founder of Salvation Ministry, is gaining attention for his recent comment on tithing and offering during a service.
His remark about Christians being able to give more than 10% of their income as offering caught the interest of internet users.
He emphasized that an offering should be larger than a person’s tithe, using his own practice of giving 20% of his earnings as an example.
Internet users couldn’t help but calculate the total amount when considering that 10% should be given as tithe and 20% allegedly as offering, resulting in 30% of a person’s income. They expressed their thoughts in the comment section about the significant amount Christians are expected to give to the church.
Additionally, it is worth stating that in January 2024, Wakadaily reported that David Ibiyeomie advised those who serve God.
He stated that Christians who serve God should not receive payment for their service. He further explained that if there is monetary compensation involved, God’s blessings will cease.
In addition, he provided an illustration using a drummer to convey the idea that if you play the drums in a church with the expectation of receiving payment, the intended blessings associated with it will cease to occur.
