Celebrity bartender, Pascal Chibuike Okechukwu, who is better known as Cubana Chief Priest, has proudly boasted on the internet after being released from the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) today.
Earlier today, Chief Priest was brought before the EFCC for the alleged offense of defacing the Nigerian currency, among other charges.
According to reports from Channels Television, the EFCC has filed three charges against the businessman for unlawfully spraying and tampering with the Nigerian currency during a social gathering, which is against the regulations stated in the Central Bank Act of 2007.
Pascal appeared in front of Justice Kehinde Ogundare at the Federal High Court in Lagos on the morning of April 17th, 2024. He pleaded not guilty to the accusations of misusing Nigerian currency. During his court appearance, his lawyer, Chukwusolo Onukwi, objected to the charges brought against him by the EFCC.
Additionally, he submitted a request for bail, which was approved by the judge.He was granted bail with a fine of ten million naira.
After his release, Cubana Chief Priest shared a photo of himself and expressed gratitude to those who had been checking on him since his arrest. He mentioned that their messages and love had made him feel humble.
He further boasted about his fame, making claims that money flows like water.
