10 kidnapped victims rescued by troops in Zamfara state

Hadarin Daji, the troops of the Joint Task Force Operation  on Tuesday, have obstructed the attempt of abducting 10 people in Tsafe- town of Zamfara state.

ln a statement issued in Gusau on Wednesday,by the Information Officer to the Operation,  Suleiman Omale said that  the troops responded to a distress call and were able to overpower the abductors.

“Responding swiftly to a distress call on the night of March 12, 2024, OPHD troops engaged in a fierce gun duel with the bandits upon arrival in Tsafe town.

“Through aggressive tactics and unwavering determination, the troops overpowered the bandits forcing them to flee with gunshot wounds through a rocky bush, abandoning the kidnapped victims.

“During subsequent mop-up patrols in the area, the resilient troops intercepted and successfully rescued all the 10 victims and reunited them with their families,” Omale explained.

He added, that Godwin Matkut, the General Officer Commanding 8 Division of the Nigerian Army Sokoto, appreciated the troops for their gallant performance,  brevity, and professionalism.

Matkut,  adviced the troops to maintain the momentum in the pursuit of restoring peace and security in the region.

Wakadaily gathered that, the troops of the Nigerian Army killed three terrorists during a raid on Sambisa forest in Borno State.

They also destroyed terrorist hideouts in the forest.

The Sambisa forest was begin by the colonial government as a game reserve but it has become the strong tower of the Boko Haram and the Islamic State for West Africa Province terrorists.

Regardless of several clearance operations carried out by the military in the forest, the terrorists still operates there.
