38- year old man, found dead in Balyelsa brothel

A yet to be identified man’s lifeless body in a brothel have been confirmed and recovered by the police in Bayelsa State at the Edepie suburb of Yenagoa, the state capital.

It was said that the middle aged man was found dead at the brothel located along the Tombia-Amassoma road on Tuesday, where he allegedly lodged with a commercial sex worker.

However, the deceased man, aged 38,  hails from Delta State, was recovering from stroke.

He was said to have left his home at about 8am on the fateful day to spend time at the brothel in the outskirts of Yenagoa, the state capital, when the unexpected happened.

Mr. Musa Muhammed, spokesman of the Bayelsa State Police Command, alongside the Assistant Superintendent of Police, ASP, confirmed the unfortunate incident.

He said: “The command received a distress call from a caller that an average man of about 38 years was found dead naked in one of the rooms in a brothel along the Tombia-Amassoma road, Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital.

“The control room immediately dispatched Ekeki Patrol which was headed by the DPO to the scene of crime. Upon arrival they discovered the subject lying dead on the bed. All occupants of the brothel fled before the arrival of the police team.

“The deceased corpse was evacuated and deposited at the morgue of Federal Medical Centre, Yenagoa for autopsy.

“Preliminary investigation is ongoing to unravel the circumstances surrounding the death of the man.”
