66 suspected cultists in Plateau arrested by the state police

On Friday, the Police Command in Plateau State, said sixty six suspected were arrested by its officers who are members of the dreaded Sara Suka cult group who have been terrorizing residents of the state.

They also recovered weapons from the suspects.

Hassan Yabanet, the state Commissioner of Police, who revealed this while parading the suspects at the command’s headquarters in Jos said the suspects were arrested at different locations during the Sallah celebration.

Yabanet said the command was actively engaged in the protection of the lives and property of the resident.

He said, “I wish to most graciously announce to you that the Eid-El-Fitr celebration in the state was peaceful and devoid of any rancour or attack on worshippers.

Gentlemen of the press, I wish to inform you that our strategic deployment paid off, as a total of seventy-six (66) suspects were arrested at different locations within the state, and the following exhibits were recovered from them; Fourteen (14) machetes Eight (8) daggers Large quantity of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp Six (6) tricycles Four (4) motorcycles and a bottle containing illicit substances. Meanwhile, all the suspects are undergoing interrogation and will be charged to court soonest”.

The commissioner who also revealed that two other suspects were arrested in Wase LGA for armed robbery added, “I wish to state emphatically that the Plateau State Police Command under my leadership will not tolerate any form of lawlessness.

Parents and guardians are therefore enjoined to pay close attention to their children and wards as no lawbreaker will be spared. Gentlemen of the Press, your continuous support for the Nigeria Police Force cannot be over emphasised”
