20 suspected cultists arrested in Benue State

The 20 suspected cultists members who were arrested by the Benue state police and have been charged to court.

Catherine Anene, in a statement made available to the journalists in makurdi on Thursday.

The Benue state police spokesman Anene, said that the arrested cultists were in their hideout along North bank and Wurukum area of the state capital.

The PPRO further said with the help of more officers about three weeks ago on close observation has produced fruits with the arrest of the suspects.

”The efforts of these officers in collaboration with other security agencies as well as members of the community, Peace was eventually restored in places that were earlier affected.

“About 20 Suspects were arrested and they were all charge to court as Stated below.

”suspects arrested during the operation includes, Daniel Sabo, Obieze Chibuzor and Friday Chimana of North Bank. They were arrested in possession of fourteen packs of dry leaves suspected to be Indian Hemp. Akegh Oscar, Terwase Saaior, and Peter Adura were arrested with two locally made pistols and three cartridges.

Anene urge teachers, parents, traditional rulers, religious leaders to join the security men to fight the Menace of cultists in the state.

“These suspects has been charge to court in accordance with the Nigeria constitution”

Police are doing everything possible to ensure that there’s enough security agencies in the state, in North bank and wurukum areas precisely.

Twenty suspected cultists members who were arrested by the Benue state police, have been charged to court.
