The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has postponed the announcement of results of the presidential election till 11am on Monday, February 27, 2023.
Upon the announcement of the Ekiti election results by the state’s returning officer, the electoral body immediately declared the news.
In the result announced earlier, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu defeated his opponents.
According to the INEC Chairman, Mahmood Yakubu, the announcement was postponed because other states results have not arrived in Abuja. Yakubu added that collation of results would continue at 11am on Monday.
Wakadaily reports that the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar had urged the INEC Chairman, Mahmood Yakubu to upload Saturday’s presidential and National Assembly election results from the polling units to the INEC server without further delay.
