Twitter removes ‘legacy’ verified blue ticks

Twitter has removed its ‘legacy’ blue ticks following Twitter CEO, Elon Musk’s new rules.

The development has affected several individuals including former Twitter CEO, Jack and award-winning superstar singers, Davido, Burna Boy, and Wizkid have lost their Twitter badges.

Wakadaily reports that Elon Musk insists on a $8 monthly payment to subscribe to its ‘Twitter Blue’ if account holders must retain their verification badge, or for those who want to get the blue tick newly, while businesses must now pay for a gold tick.

Earlier last month, Musk had tweeted that “Final date for removing legacy blue checks is April 20.”

Also, Chief Executive Officer Mark Zuckerberg announced on Sunday, 20 February via his Facebook page, that Facebook and Instagram will start a paid subscription service starting at $11.99 a month, following a similar move by Twitter CEO Elon Musk.
