Netizens drag Asisat Oshoala for removing shirt to celebrate Nigeria’s win

Mixed reactions trail as Super Falcons’ Asisat Oshoala pull her shirt to celebrate netting a third goal against Australia at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Oshoala who came on as a second-half subtitled, scored in the 72nd minute earning Nigeria a 3-2 victory on Thursday, at the Brisbane Stadium.

The 29-year-old removed her shirt in excitement and ran to the sideline to celebrate her goal with her teammates, getting a yellow card in the process.

The iconic photo has since stirred reactions on social media, while some condemned the act others hailed her for the great performance.

Webkid Afrika wrote: “Women in the football space especially players should be shown the red card for removing their jersey as a form of celebration. Asisat Oshoala should be used as a scapegoat !!!!!”
