Lloyd Ekweremadu, the first son of former Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, makes it to Enugu commissioner-nominees.
Governor Peter Mbah has on Friday appointed 15 commissioner-nominees, which includes Ike Ekweremadu’s son, and ex-governor Sullivan’s daughter, Ada Chukwu.
Lloyd is first out of four children of the imprisoned former Nigerian Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, who, along with his wife Beatrice and middle man doctor, Obinna Obeta, was convicted of organ trafficking and sentenced to prison by a UK court for violating the Modern Slavery Act.
The list of the nominees was sent to the state House of Assembly by the state on Friday, and was read on the floor of the House by the Speaker, Uche Ugwu, in Enugu.
In a letter accompanying the list, the Secretary of State, Prof. Chidiebere Onyia, stated that it might not be the final list and requested the House to consider the nominees promptly.
“While this may not be the exhaustive list, I’m optimistic that this request will receive your usual expeditious consideration,” Onyia said.
