Mixed reactions as Tinubu appoints Ajuri Ngelale as Special Adviser on Media

The appointment of Ajuri Obari Ngelale as president’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity has continued to generate mixed reactions from the public.

Wakadaily reports that President Bola Tinubu had on Monday appointed Ngelale, an ex-aide to former President Muhammadu Buhari, as his special adviser on media.

The appointment was announced by director of information in the office of the secretary to the government of the federation (SGF), Willie Bassey.

The statement read: “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of chief Ajuri Ngelale as special adviser to the president on media and publicity.

“The appointment takes effect from 31st July 2023 and would terminate at the end of this administration unless otherwise decided by the president.”

Ajuri Ngelale via his Twitter page said he is humbled and honoured by the appointment.

He wrote: “I am most humbled and honoured by H.E. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s recognition of the need for more hard work ahead as I have been appointed as his official spokesperson & special adviser to the president on media & publicity,” Ngelale said.

“I will give my best as always. I love you all.”

His appointment has continued to generate mixed reactions from people as many compared him to the former Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed.
