Man killed for refusing to allow daughter marry bandit in Zamfara

Bandit reportedly killed a man in Kwalfada village at Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State for not allowing his daughter marry their colleague.

Indigene of the village, Mallam Rabo who spoke with newsmen said, one of the bandits had proposed marriage to the girl but her father refused.

The father then decided to give out his daughter to one of the men in the village instead of the bandits.

“After the marriage was contracted, the bandits invaded the community and killed the father of the girl.

“They also asked the husband of the girl to divorce her so that their colleague could marry her.

“They threatened to kill the husband if he did not comply with the directive.

“The husband immediately divorced the wife and she was remarried to the bandit who took her to the forest.”

The source lamented that the criminal elements had been terrorising the community for a long time, saying no action was taken by the authorities.

Rabo added that the bandits imposed N4 million levy on the village a few weeks ago.
