NYSC members cries out over high cost of food in camps

The first 2024 batch A, National Youth Service Corp Members mobilised this February for service, has expressed discomfort about the high increase of food price in the mammy market.

The mammy markets are available in all NYSC camp for those unable to stand the queues for camp-provided food

A Corp member in Bauchi NYSC Camp, Jefferson via his Tiktok streesed that the increase costs in mammy markets have forced most Corp Members to queue for camp food.
He said, “everyone needs camp food due to the expensive price in mammy markets.Those who brought thousands to the camp have finished their money within few days.Now food is hard for all Corps members.we  hardly maintain peace to be in the queue and receive the very little food”

Another Corps member in the southern part of the country stated that the camp coordinator has advised Corp members not to depend on camp food, as it will not be enough for everyone.  She said, “our camp coordinator even ask us to consider camp exit because the camp cannot feed everyone.”

The National Youth Service Corp, NYSC mobilized Corp members for service on February 13, 2024, for Batch A Stream 1. The corps are spend three weeks in their various state of services.
