CIBN to admit 336 chartered bankers

The chartered institute Bankers of Nigeria(CIBN) has announced plan to induct 336 new members as chartered bankers.

Folake Akintayo, the Head of Corporate Communications and Brand Management,  on Monday said, CIBN would be awarding certificates to student members who had completed the institute’s Banking Professional Examinations in 2023.

The ceremony scheduled were to take place on March 23, 2024, and see 336 newly qualified associates (chartered bankers) and 149 microfinance-certified bankers formally admitted into the associateship and microfinance-certified bankers’ categories of the institute.

It declared the 2024 Stream One Graduate Induction and Prize Awards Ceremony of the institute would also serve as a platform for a lecture titled ‘Ethics and Professionalism: A Prerequisite for Building Sustainable Careers and Institutions’, which would be delivered by the Chief Executive Officer of Sterling Bank Plc, Mr Abubakar Suleiman.

The lecture is expected to provide insights for professionals about the importance of ethics and professionalism in fostering both individual careers and institutional sustainability,” the statement read partly.

Also speaking at the lecture is Abayomi Oluyomi, the Commissioner of Finance, Lagos State.
