LG Electronics, operators to strengthen laundry standards

The Fabricare Professionals and Drycleaners Association (FPDA) is collaborating with LG Electronics to enhance laundry and cleaning standards in Nigeria.

According to the news gathered, it was revealed that it will launch “The Clean Africa Show” from May 28 to May 29, 2024, to drive innovation, foster collaboration, and promote sustainable practices within the laundry sector.

The Fabricare Professionals Drycleaning Association was established in May 2023 to promote and develop professionals in the laundry industry.

Mr Eni Adebayo, the president of the FPDA, stressed that the significance of laundry services in the country was often overlooked; noting that the professionals in the industry served as a bridge that impact individuals and communities.

He said, “We are excited to collaborate with LG Electronics to bring the first-ever laundry exhibition show to Nigeria. This event serves as a nexus for industry leaders, innovators, and stakeholders to converge, exchange insights, and showcase the latest advancements in laundry technology and practices. Topics of discussion will include sustainability, digital transformation, business growth strategies, and the future of laundry care in Nigeria.

Also speaking, the Managing Director of LG Electronics West African operations, Mr Hyoung Sub-ji, said that promoting cleanliness was a necessity, considering the various infections and environmental pollution the world continued to battle with.

He added, “Promoting cleanliness is not just a matter of convenience. It’s a matter of necessity, and LG is proud to be at the forefront of this effort, offering a range of cutting-edge products that are designed to promote sustainability and efficiency. Together with FPDA, we aim to elevate standards and drive positive change within the Nigerian laundry industry.”
