PR practitioners to examine conflict management

The Nigerian Women in Public Relations will be conveying for their annual Experiencing PR conference for 2024, with the aim of exploring ways to effectively leverage public relations for conflict management in the country.

The reports says that the 2024 Experiencing PR Conference titled “Quiet Wars: Leveraging Public Relations for Conflict Management” would be held in Lagos on Wednesday.

It noted that the conference would feature a lineup of distinguished speakers, including renowned thought leaders and business professionals from the private and public sectors, providing insights, real-world expertise, and case studies on conflict navigation.

It stated that the event would present innovative, cutting-edge strategies for effectively leveraging public relations to solve challenges.

According to the Nigerian Women in Public Relations, special highlights of this year’s edition include the contributions of global leaders, featuring the special address from the CEO of the Public Relations and Communications Association, James Hewes and Dean of the School of Communications & Reputation, Hemant Gaule.

The Public Relations consultant and founder of Nigerian Women in Public Relations, Tolulope Olorundero, stated, “We are honoured to present a diverse lineup of speakers who embody professionalism across various sectors. Their confirmation underscores the importance of the work we are doing, and the significance of the Experiencing PR Conference and reaffirms its importance in the global industry.

Each speaker has been carefully selected to ensure our delegates leave the conference with expanded knowledge of the understanding and relevance of public relations, especially in conflict management.”

Olorundero stressed that speakers on the business panel session will bediscussing the topic “From the Generals: Stakeholder Management Strategies that Worked”, include Country Director, British Council, Nigeria, Lucy Pearson; Chief Operating Officer, Brila Media Limited, Debbie Larry-Izamoje and CEO, ACT Foundation, Osayi Alile, adding that the panel would be moderated by Principal Consultant, Blanche Aigle Communications, Nene Bejide.

The industry panel session will feature professionals in the public relations and communications industry, including founder & CEO of African Media Agency, Eloine Barry and CEO of Integrated Indigo Ltd, Bolaji Abimbola, discussing the topic “PR Strategies to Win Quiet Wars in Business and Government”. The panel conversation will be led by Regional Head of Marketing & Communications, Cultural Engagement, Sub-Saharan Africa, British Council, Edemekong Uyoh,” Olorundero declared.
