Peter Akpe was also appointed Chief of Staff by Diri. Akpe served as the governor’s deputy chief of staff before being named acting chief of staff during his first time in office.

In a statement released on Monday in Yenagoa, the state capital, the governor’s chief press secretary, Mr. Daniel Alabrah, announced the appointments.

Alabrah continued to serve as CPS, but Irorodamie Komonibo was named as the new Deputy Chief of Staff at Government House, according to the statement.

During his first term, Komonibo served as the Governor’s Principal Secretary.

The announcement stated that the appointments took effect right away.

Ayawei has served as the Executive Chairman of the Bayelsa State Board of Internal Revenue since 2016, prior to this latest appointment.

About 40 days after the governor’s inauguration for a second term on February 14, 2024, these are the first official appointments that he has approved.
