Ede Poly gifts best students N400,000

Federal Polytechnic, Ede, Osun State grants two best students undergoing National Diploma and Higher National Diploma Programmes the sum of 200,000 each from the institutions.

Following 30th matriculation of 9,150 students offered admission into ND and HND programmes in the 2023/2024 academic session, the money was meant to motivate on the educational studies which they are about to embark on.

Mr Sola Lawal, the Public Relations Officer of the polytechnic, said on Monday that a cash gift of 400,000 was given to the two best students in the last academic session.

The students, Waliu Bamidele of the Department of Library & Information Science and Babatunde Ifeoluwa of the Department of Mechanical Engineering with a CGPA of 3.98 in National Diploma, respectively, are the recipients of the largesse from the management.”

Also speaking, Dr Man Yahaya Sani, the Rector of the polytechnic, who advised the new students to focus on their academic work, enumerated recent successes recorded by the management of the institution.

Sani also explained that the polytechnic had secured approval to offer an additional 18 new programmes at both National Diploma and Higher National Diploma levels, starting from 2023/2024 academic session.

He said, “With this development, the programmes run by the Polytechnic, all fully accredited by the National Board for Technical Education, under the leadership of the Executive Secretary, Prof. Idris Muhammed Bugaje, has now increased to 64 and 42 Departments.

This remarkable success does not only highlight the academic prowess of our students but also reflects the high standards of education and preparation provided by the Polytechnic. This is a very good signal to the fact that this administration is not relenting on its oars in moving this Institution to its desired position as the best in the comity of Polytechnics in West Africa.”
