Ogun state government advocates gender equality

Ogun State has demanded coordinated action to eradicate gender bias in all of its forms.

At a recent celebration in Abeokuta to honor International Women’s Day this year, Noimot Salako-Oyedele, the state’s deputy governor, made the call.

She said that the event was an important chance to honor exceptional women who were paving the path for innovation, quality, and service delivery in a world full of gender stereotypes, bigotry, and discrimination.

She continued by saying that the administration of Dapo Abiodun was unwavering in its efforts to create an atmosphere that would support women’s involvement in evidence-based policies and more activities aimed at empowering them.

Additionally, Adijat Adeleye, the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, advocated for increased female involvement and inclusion in all areas of human endeavor.

According to Adeleye, the occasion provided a chance to honor the accomplishments and tenacity of women around. She recognized the ongoing obstacles that impede their complete involvement and integration in several domains.

She added that women had been instrumental in advancing societal values over time, which had fueled neighborhood growth and improved economic well-being.

She went on to say that chances for leadership roles, investments, education, and resource access made those accomplishments possible.

Women have made contributions to nation-building, community development, and social growth, according to Oluwaseyi Sokoya, the ministry’s permanent secretary.

By giving them the tools to better their livelihoods, Sokoya reaffirmed the government’s commitment to upholding the rights of women and girls in the state.
