Bauchi Govt moves to implement cleaner environmental policies

According to the Bauchi State Government, plans are in motion to go back to implementing the Clean Environment policy.

This was said by Danlami Ahmed Kawule, Commissioner of the Ministry of Housing and Environment, who was overseeing the special sanitation operation at the Muda-Lawal market in the Bauchi city.

In line with its sanitation exercise and hygiene net, Ahmed Kawule said his ministry intends to expand the policy and has obtained executive authority to expand the exercise to other markets, residents, hospitals, and MDAs around the state.

Kawule, who afterwards started a tree-planting initiative at the market, praised the leadership of the market for their commitment and cooperation and urged other markets to follow suit.

In order to ensure standard hygiene in all markets and public areas, the agency has since established a working synergy with other pertinent agencies, among them the Bauchi State Primary Health Care Development Agency, according to Dr. Mahmud Muhammad Bose, Director General of the Bauchi State Environmental Protection Agency.

“The agency selected the Muda-Lawal market for an eye-opener exercise as the market accumulated a variety of consumables,” Bose stated.

Bala Mai-kaji, the chairman of Mudal-Lawal Market, expressed his happiness at his market’s selection but also gave his assurance that the market’s renewed commitment to sanitation will not waver.
