Kaduna govt distributes palliatives to 289,375 IDP’s

The Kaduna State Government has started distributing palliatives to bandit-affected villages, with a goal count of 289,375 internally displaced persons (IDPs).

According to Dr. Usman Mazadu, Executive Secretary of the Kaduna State Emergency Management Agency (KADSEMA), the recipients came from 551 communities spread over 12 local governments in the state.

At the flag-off of palliative distribution at Maraban Kajuru, Dr. Mazadu revealed the figures and said they were more than simply numbers—rather, they were statistics “that symbolize lives, dreams, and the continuing spirit of our people.”

According to the head of KADSEMA in Chikun, the government’s goodwill will help 26,345 displaced people and 134 impacted localities.

“In Birnin Gwari, 84 affected communities and 70,893 displaced, and in numerous other communities across 12 other local governments.”

Nonetheless, Dr. Mazadu stated that the state government had registered 289,375 displaced people from 551 impacted localities spread over 12 local government districts.

“In the few coming weeks, we shall on behalf of His Excellency extend this distribution to all the affected communities in the 12 Local Governments identified,” he stated.

Deputy Governor Dr. Hadiza Balarabe, who was accompanied by her Chief of Staff, Barrister James Kanyip, flagged off the distribution and gave the assurance that the administration led by Governor Uba Sani would not stop working till the threat of banditry is eliminated.

Governor Sani, according to the deputy governor, is dedicated to offering assistance, consolation, and support to individuals who have been impacted by the unrest because he recognizes the anguish and suffering brought on by it.
