Kogi governor, others commiserates with former governor Idris on son’s death

Following the passing of his son Muhammad, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, a former governor of Kogi State, received condolences from both former governor Alhaji Yayaha Bello and governor Alhaji Usman Ododo.

Muhammad formerly served as a representative in the House of Representatives for the Ankpa/Olamaboro/Omala Federal Constituency.

In a letter of condolence addressed to his Special Advisor on Media, Ismaila Isah, Ododo called the late federal lawmaker’s passing “tragic.”

The late Muhammad was referred to by the governor as an older brother who he had found to be “a worthy compatriot.” The governor also mentioned that the last time they had met was in March 2024, when he visited him as governor in the company of Omala Local Government area stakeholders. During their visit, they had fruitful discussions about plans for the state’s development.

The governor advised the family to find comfort in the knowledge that deceased was a respected politician and businessman who had a life full of honorable achievements.

Ododo prayed to Allah for the former legislator’s family to have the strength to endure the loss and for him to have eternal rest.

Bello also expressed his condolences, saying, “I remember the late lawmaker as a progressive politician and a proud ambassador of the state, who navigated the political landscape with fairness and integrity.”

Bello offered comfort to the bereaved father, Ibrahim Idris, highlighting Mohammed’s peaceful life and his role as a model for others to emulate.

Bello prayed to Allah for eternal peace for Mohammed’s departed soul, while encouraging the family to take solace in his significant legacy.

Mohammed served as the federal representative for Ankpa/Olamaboro/Omala from 2011 to 2015. He was born on December 8, 1969.

He passed away in Abuja on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at the age of 55.
