Mentorship will help women entrepreneurs succeed

Women entrepreneurs can achieve significant success through effective leadership and mentorship, according to the Champions Women Entrepreneurs Mentoring Association.

The association revealed this during a recent capacity- building workshop for women entrepreneurs recently held in Lagos.

Angela Ajala, the National Coordinator of the Association of Nigerian Women Business Network, stressed the importance of networking platform and opportunities.

Ajala said that networking had helped many entrepreneurs through access to training, resources, knowledge, and skills.

Noruwa Edokpolor, a certified expert in organization, stated that leadership skills require the capacity to inspire, influence, and guide individuals and teams toward a common goal requiring qualities like vision, integrity, empathy, and decisiveness to drive organisation success.

He also stressed the importance of overcoming barriers to personal development.

Meanwhile, Olakitan Wellington, the president of CWEMA, disclosed how the workshop theme ‘Female Entrepreneurs in An Emerging Economy’ was to equip potential female entrepreneurs on how to navigate the challenges associated with businesses.

Wellington, who doubles as the national secretary of the Association of Nigerian Women Business Network, declared, “The capacity building workshop is part of the tool created for the business community to encourage investment and stimulate business activity and economic growth for women and to address the major challenges business and professional women face, which constituted huge impediments to their growth and sustainability.”
