Ogun seeks business leaders’ collaboration

In an effort to boost the state’s economy, Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, will be meeting with business leaders on Tuesday to discuss collaboration opportunities.

From the report issued on Sunday by Mr Adebola Sofela, the state’s Commissioner for Industry, Trade and Investment, revealed that, Abiodun will convene with leaders, before declaring open the 13th Gateway International Trade Fair at the M.K.O. Abiola Trade Fair Complex in Abeokuta.

Abiodun will convene with CEOs and industry captains in Ibara, Abeokuta, on Tuesday, before officially declaring the trade fair.

The aim of the meeting is for the governor to engage with the CEOs as strategic partners, acknowledging their contribution to the 2024 Trade Fair and exploring further areas of collaboration.

Sofela highlighted that this pre-trade fair meeting will serve to update industrialists on government policies and programs, demonstrating the state’s commitment to creating a conducive business environment.

He added that the state would continue to put all machinery in motion to provide an enabling environment for business to thrive.

The commissioner encouraged the public to capitalize on the free transportation services and the chance to win prizes, including a two-bedroom bungalow, by participating in this year’s trade fair.

He said, “The state government in collaboration with Ogun State Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture, has put together the biggest Gateway International Trade Fair with so many attractions which the members of the public cannot afford to miss.

There is a wider range of local and international exhibitors this year. There is free transportation to the Trade Fair Complex from different locations in Abeokuta. An Entertainment Village is also available for visitors at the Trade Fair to have a memorable time while there is a sickbay as well as a medical outreach program where medical tests would be carried out,” the commissioner noted.
