The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), Set To Upgrade Three Hospitals In FCT

The Federal Capital Territory Health Services and Environment Secretariat has unveiled an extensive and ambitious plan to upgrade and enhance the facilities at three hospitals located in Abuja.

Dr. Adedolapo Fasawe, the Mandate Secretary, reiterated the administration’s unwavering determination and commitment to significantly improve the healthcare infrastructure in these hospitals.

In a detailed press statement released by Badaru Yakasai, the Assistant Director of Information at the HSES, on Sunday, it was highlighted that Fasawe articulated these proactive measures during a comprehensive assessment tour conducted by the delegation from the African Union Commission to Maitama and Asokoro district hospitals.

The Mandate Secretary, who was represented by the diligent Permanent Secretary, Dr. Baba-Gana Adamu, further emphasized that the esteemed FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, had recently made public the FCTA’s concrete plans to undertake a substantial upgrade of various hospitals across the territory by enhancing their infrastructure and overall capabilities.

“The FCT Administration has placed health as a top priority to the renewed hope agenda of the President Bola Tinubu’s administration, and as such, three hospitals in FCT will get a facelift to meet up standard, these hospitals are Gwagwalada, Utako, and Gwarinpa General hospitals,” she stated.

Kalifa Manneh, the Acting Head of the Medical Laboratory at the African Union Commission and the leader of an 18-member delegation, articulated the primary aim of their visit as being to assertively evaluate and meticulously assess the quality and efficacy of medical and health services being provided at both Maitama and Asokoro district hospitals.

She further expounded that the overarching purpose of their assessment is to comprehensively analyze and scrutinize the preparedness and capacity of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to effectively host and support the operations of the African Humanitarian Department.

During her inaugural address and welcomed by the Medical Director of Maitama District Hospital, the esteemed Dr. Rita Idemudia, highlighted, with profound determination and unwavering commitment, that the esteemed hospital is resolutely dedicated to providing not only top-tier, but also affordable and conveniently accessible healthcare services to the citizens.

Dr. Idemudia underscored her dedication to leveraging the most cutting-edge and appropriate technologies available within the modern medical landscape in order to optimize the health outcomes and well-being of those within the community.
