USAID Promotes PHCs In Kebbi State

During a comprehensive three-day workshop specifically organized for ministries, departments, and agencies in Kebbi State, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) State2State program delivered a promising announcement.

The program’s Team Lead, Usman Faleye, shared that they are committed to enhancing their budgetary support towards primary health centers within the state.

This declaration was made in a statement issued on Saturday, highlighting the workshop’s central focus on the health sector.

The primary objective of the gathering was to advocate for an augmentation in budgetary provisions and ensure a more efficient disbursement of funds to bolster the health sector in Kebbi State.

Faleye stated, “The training will help the state to improve on its budget allocation to the ministry as well hasten the releases that will help in primary health care and other related health sectors.”

Hajia Aisha Usman, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning in the state, expressed her gratitude and acknowledged that the state had never before encountered such positive developments like those that resulted from the training session.

She described the training as a profound ‘eye-opener’ that provided valuable insights and knowledge to the state officials, paving the way for potential growth and progress in the future.

She noted , “The three-day workshops on budget profiling and cash management procedures were very impactful as they gave the state the idea of expenditure for each month and this would enable the state to plan correctly before making such expenditure.”
