Adeleke claims Osun state hasn’t taken any loan, 16months after assuming office

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke claims that since taking office on November 27, 2022, he has not taken out a loan.

Adeleke made this statement on Tuesday in Ilesa during the second “Ipade Imole” forum, when he offered the state’s citizens stewardship.

The governor claimed that his choice to finance projects only with available funds was consistent with his promise to rule.

“In all our governance activities so far, let it be known that we have never borrowed a kobo.

“This is in line with our pledge to govern within our available resources as we manage the huge liabilities we inherited from the previous government.

“If anybody tells you this administration has borrowed money, tell the person he is a liar,” he said.

As he outlined his accomplishments across the board, Adeleke stated that his administration was restructuring the mining industry and had established a task force to reduce illicit mining in the region.

Regarding health, the governor reported that more than 100 Primary Health Care Centers throughout the state have been updated and remodeled under his administration.

He asserted that 29,000 retirees were enrolled in the State Health Insurance Scheme for free, making almost 50,000 people the beneficiaries of Imole medical outreach.

In addition, Adeleke stated that his administration has granted a N1.3 billion water contract for the restoration of the Ora Water Works Scheme, which supplies the state’s Igbomina region.

Regarding the development of infrastructure, the governor announced that his administration was working to build a large number of flyover bridges and dualize state roads.

He said that his administration was also advancing young, women, agriculture, and creative

“We are running a pan-Osun government that is committed to the revival and prosperity of our dear state,” he stated.
