Governor Alia pledges timely payment of salaries to Benue state workers

Governor of Benue State Hyacinth Alia has said that in addition to making sure that workers’ salaries are paid on time, his administration will also make sure that outstanding debts are paid, handle issues related to allowances and promotions, and make sure that employees receive training and retraining.

Governor Alia, who made the guarantee at this year’s Workers’ Day celebration, praised laborers for their enormous contributions to Benue’s overall development.

He said, “I am promising to continue to prioritize the welfare of the workers.”

In keeping with the 2024 Work Day theme, “Ensuring Safety and Health at Work in a Changing Climate,” the governor stated that his administration is already implementing the theme by renovating the state secretariat and providing a 33KVA transformer specifically for the purpose of giving employees a safe and comfortable place to work.

Speaking through chief press secretary Tersoo Kula, Alia added that in addition to paying workers’ salaries on time, his administration will also take care of unpaid arrears, handle matters pertaining to allowances and promotions, and guarantee that workers receive training and retraining. Alia stated that concerns regarding the state’s workforce will always be a top priority for his administration.

The governor wished a joyous celebration to all of the employees and tasked them with upholding a culture of openness, empathy, responsibility, and authenticity at all times.

He asked them to stay apolitical at all times and to support him in his endeavors by carrying out their designated duties as state employees.
